Where can you store luggage in Amsterdam?
Beware of the “Flying Dutchman,” especially when he is on a bike! Amsterdam is famous for many things, but when we think of Amsterdam, the first image that comes to mind is a bicycle. And believe me, a bicycle and luggage are not good traveling companions in this tiny Dutch city. Find somewhere to store your luggage, and you will be free to enjoy this most charming of cities. With 25 secure luggage storage places in Amsterdam, you will find BAGBNB has the answer to all your luggage storage requirements:
What is BAGBNB and how does it work?
BAGBNB is a luggage storage solution (or Bagageopslag as it is known in Dutch) available at 25 locations in Amsterdam. Our partners, called Angels, offer safe left luggage places in Amsterdam for your convenience at the amazing price of just €5 PER DAY! This is a fixed price without additional taxes, limits, or restrictions on weight or size of baggage and booking your luggage storage could not be easier. Use the BAGBNB app or book online, and you will be sent a map to the nearest Angel. It takes just 3 minutes to leave your luggage troubles behind you.
Does Central Station Amsterdam have lockers?
There are automated luggage storage lockers at Central Station Amsterdam, but they are not cheap nor as secure as the BAGBNB personalized Angels. Please remember to take great care with your possessions in Central Station as it is notorious as a place for pickpockets and bag snatchers. It is far safer to find a BAGBNB Angel situated very close to Central Station Amsterdam and leave your luggage in safe hands.
Does Amsterdam Airport have luggage storage?
Schiphol Airport has a range of luggage storage facilities for both long-term and short-term holding. Please note that the prices are per piece of luggage and will work out very expensive unless you travel light. BAGBNB luggage storage is a fixed price for ALL your luggage which will be “guarded” by an Angel.
How do I get to Amsterdam from the airport?
There are three possible ways of getting from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to the city centre of Amsterdam. You can choose to use the bus, a train or a taxi. The airport is just over thirty minutes away from the city centre, so whichever method you choose, it will not be long before you can be out and about exploring the museums, and photographing the unique gabled buildings and tranquil canals of this old but thoroughly modern city. If you arrive at Central Station Amsterdam, you will find our conveniently situated Angel at Amsterdam Central Station.
Amsterdam things to do:
It is important to choose the time of the year for your visit to Amsterdam with care. It is blessed with many attractions, but the weather is often inclement, and you will probably need an umbrella. However, Amsterdam has something for everyone!
Art & Culture
If you are an art buff, then wandering around The Rijksmuseum or The VanGogh museum will satisfy your desire to see many of the masterpieces by the world’s greatest artists. Don’t miss the modern art at the Stedelijk Museum.
History in Amsterdam
For history lovers, Anne Frank’s House is a tragic reminder of one of the worst times in modern history. You will also find much evidence of the impact of WW2 around this city. Long before that terrible time in the history of Europe, Amsterdam enjoyed a Golden Age, and around the city, you will find the legacies of pride in their achievements in the 17th-century.
Markets and shopping
The Jordaan is a funky, picturesque district that offers the opportunity to do some shopping at the markets or just browse around the stalls of beautiful blue and white ceramic tiles and flower markets that Amsterdam is famous for. Dam Square is the place to head if you want to see a Dutch Palace, sample traditional Dutch recipes in the many restaurants, or enjoy live entertainment. If you find yourself loaded with shopping and tulip bulbs to take home, why not store your purchases at a handy BAGBNB Angel before you continue exploring the wild Amsterdam nightlife. You will find Angels at Rijksmuseum, Dam square.
There are also opportunities to take canals boat trips or venture outside of the city and see the famous windmills, fields of tulips in every color of the rainbow and more Dutch cheese than you can imagine.
Amsterdam prides itself on being one of the most liberal and open-minded cities in the world. It also has cheap Amsterdam flights linking it to all over Europe. For this reason, it is the chosen venue for many young people to celebrate Hen and Buck’s nights.
Watch out as these can get quite rowdy! For the curious traveler or the thrill-seeker, there is much to entertain you. Early evening in Amsterdam tends to be quiet, but after dark, there are many and varied clubs and watering holes for the thirsty visitor. Did you know that you can take an interactive tour through Heineken’s former brewery, which ends with a tasting room?
A visit to the famous Sex Museum and the Hash, Marihuana, and Hemp museum will certainly broaden your mind. A word of warning – spending too long in the Coffee Shops can result in missed flights and lost luggage!
Getting around Amsterdam with luggage will be difficult. Although the city is small and compact, its popularity ensures a steady throng of tourists along narrow cobbled streets. Besides the thousands of bicycles, there are also trams and tram lines to be negotiated. Hotels and AirB&B are not keen on storing lots of luggage for lengthy periods, and the charges are often eye-watering.
You can book your safe luggage storage in Amsterdam at the BAGBNB website or on the spot using our handy app so that you can relax and make the most of your trip.
